S-DSP

The S-DSP was made by Sony and got used inside the Nintendo Super Famicom / SNES. It features 64kb of RAM and runs at 2.048 Mhz. It does not actually generate waveforms but plays back Samples stored in the so-called BRR Format.

Emulation
- SPC | A File Format to store SPC700 Music is .spc, which is actually an Image of the SPC700 RAM that contains all the samples, song structure and the replay code. These days you will mostly encounter .rsn, which are just rar’ed .spc files. You can grab most known files over at snesmusic.org.
- Lots of players can be found over at snesmusic.org too. They also work fine in Hoot.
